DAY 1

• Coastal Train Tour to San Luis Obispo

• Dinner

We will catch our AMTRAK train, this morning, for our scenic coastal ride from Union Station in Los Angeles to San Luis Obispo. Once in San Luis Obispo, we'll transfer to our hotel.

DAY 2

• Continental Breakfast, Dinner
• Tour to Monterey Peninsula
• Holiday Inn-Express

Our tour, this morning, from San Luis Obispo to Carmel and Monterey on Highway 1 is simply one of the most scenic drives in the world. We'll pass quaint Cambria, Morro Bay and its landmark, Morro Rock, the Gibraltar of the Pacific, the Hearst Castle in San Simeon and the Big Sur area, before we reach Steinbeck Country, the Monterey Peninsula. Lunch, on your own, will be in Carmel. Dinner, tonight, will be on Fisherman's Wharf.

DAY 3

• Continental Breakfast
• Roaring Camp Railroad
• Visit Santa Cruz

We'll tour around Morro Bay, this morning, to Santa Cruz, with its famous boardwalk. Next, we'll board the Roaring Camp & Big Trees Railroad, for our exciting ride through the Santa Cruz Mountains and the stately redwoods. ALL ABOARD!!

DAY 4

• Continental Breakfast, Dinner
• Tour to Mendocino Coast & Ft. Bragg
• Beachcomber Motel

We will continue our coastal journey north, this morning, through San Francisco and across the Golden Gate Bridge on scenic Highway 101. Later, we will return to Highway 1 through Mendocino, where the entire town is a Historic Preservation District on the National Register of Historic Places. Settled around 1850, it boasts many picturesque, New England style houses, as well as a superb coastal setting. Out hotel, north of Ft. Bragg, is near the water!

DAY 5

• Skunk Train Ride through the Redwoods
• Lunch on the Train
• Tour to Wine Country
• Wine Tasting
• Hawthorne Inn
• Dinner

The Sierra Railroad's Skunk Excursion train is a wonderful experience. You will enjoy the Redwoods and the beautiful California Coastal mountain range. originally a logging railroad, the "Skunk" line dates back to 1855 and is a fun way to see some of California's most scenic countryside.

After our train ride, we will continue by motorcoach to California's Wine Country. We'll even have time for a taste of two of the fruit of the vine!

DAY 6

• Breakfast, Dinner
• Napa Wine Train with Lunch
• Tour to Santa Nella
• Holiday Inn - Express

We step back in history, this morning, as we board the famous Napa Valley Wine Train for our lunch ride through the Wine Country.

DAY 7

• Continental Breakfast
• Tour Home

We will head home, today, via the San Joaquin Valley. We'll be home tonight with many great memories of our terrific train tour through the Golden State!!!
