  • Get Acquainted Dinner

Welcome to San Antonio...one of America's unique cities where the east meets the west, where the romance and tradition of old Spain meets the sound and energy of high tech society, where the river dances through the heart of the City's and the fiesta never ends.

Upon arrival, we'll tour this beautiful city as we drive past the King William Historic District, which was one of San Antonio's early residential neighborhoods built at the turn of the century by German "merchant princes." The area has been "reawakened" and is once again a gracious and friendly old-fashioned neighborhood.

Next, we'll follow the Mission Trail to Mission Concepcion, one of the oldest mission churches in Texas, where rare original wall paintings frescoes, in red, blue and ochre are still in evidence on the interior walls. We will drive by the Spanish Governor's Palace, once the ruling hacienda of San Antonio. It is an excellent example of Spanish Colonial architecture and way of life.

Other stops today will be at the fascinating Institute of Texas Culture and at the SAS Shoe Factory Outlet, where you might find a bargain or two!

The final stop of the day will be El Mercado, the Mexican Market, where imports from Mexico are colorful and attractive. There will be time for shopping and browsing in the many boutiques offering dresses, jewelry, piņatas, pottery, glass wares, paper flowers and many other imports.

Our hotel is the Drury Inn Riverwalk. Both are located in the historic downtown area of the banks of the picturesque Riverwalk. You will be just blocks from the Alamo. Tonight, there will be a special get acquainted dinner.

  • IMAX Theater Alamo Movie
  • Visit the Alamo & Buckhorn Saloon
  • Boat Ride on the San Antonio River
  • Hosted Happy Hour

Today, we'll to the wonderful IMAX Theater near our hotel for the beautiful recreation of the story of the Alamo. Afterwards, it's just a short walk to the Alamo itself. We will also visit the Buckhorn Saloon and the intriguing Hall of Horns.

Later, we'll cruise on the San Antonio River on our narrated boat ride.

Day 3

  • Breakfast, Lunch
  • Hill Country Tour, including LBJ Ranch & Fredricksburg
  • Hosted Happy Hour

The beautiful Texas Hill Country has never been so well known as when Lyndon B. Johnson was President of the United States. His barbecues under the oak and pecan trees of his ranch were seen by all in those days. So that you can taste a little of "Perdernales country" for yourselves, we have arranged a day in this legendary part of Texas.

You will view the LBJ Ranch including the Junction School, the Johnson birthplace and the cemetery, the LBJ Ranch lands with its registered Hereford cattle, the Snow Barn, and the exterior of the Texas White House, where Mrs. Johnson still resides. At the LBJ Historical Park Visitor Center, you will see memorabilia from Presidents Johnson's boyhood through his days as President. You will enjoy seeing bison and Texas Longhorns, and the Sauer Farm, which is operated exactly as it was at the turn of the century.

Our next stop will be quaint little Luckenbach made famous in the song by "Waylon and Willie." Then it's on to historic Fredericksburg for lunch, shopping and browsing on Main Street in the quaint German Town. You will also visit the Admiral Chester Nimitz Museum dedicated to World War II, where you will experience the South Pacific Theater and walk through the Fabulous Japanese Peace Garden.

Day 4
