10 Day Itinerary
Day 1
We'll travel
through the Mojave Desert of Southern California to Williams,
Arizona, a delightful town of Pines, Railroads, and Route 66. En
route we'll pass the historic towns of Victorville, Barstow,
Calico, Needles, and Kingman.
Day 2

Northern Arizona Tour to
Albuquerque

Grande
We'll
continue our trek east today as we view the open expanses of
Northern Arizona. We'll first climb to Flagstaff and then gently
descend across Arizona to the intriguing Petrified Forest National
Park, Where we'll take the 28 mile drive with its breathtaking
vistas, petrified log deposits, Anasazi India Ruins, and
the Painted Desert.
Then
it's off to Albuquerque to spend the night.
Day 3
We'll
tour this interesting city today. Highlights will include the
University of New Mexico's pueblo style campus and the historic
landmarks throughout the city. Albuquerque's tri-culture of
Indian, Spanish, and "Anglo" heritage is evident in everything
from its unique adobe architecture to its lyrical street names. A
highlight, today, will be our ride on the Sandia Peak Aerial
Tramway, one of the world's longest at 2.7 miles, over the deep
canyons and spectacular terrain of the Sandia
Mountains.
Later, we'll take a short drive to lovely Santa
Fe.
Day 4
We'll tour Santa Fe this morning, the second
oldest city in the United States. Highlights of the tour will be
the San Miguel Mission, the oldest church in the United
States, the Palace of the Governors, the Plaza area and much
more.
This afternoon, we'll
board the Vintage Santa Fe Southern Railway and have lunch as we
ride through the scenic northern New Mexico countryside.
Day 5
Our sightseeing tour today will
include a visit Taos, New Mexico, a darling art colony made
up of three villages.
On the way to Durango, our afternoon sightseeing
tour will include the second highest arch bridge in the United
States, the 650 foot high Rio Grande Gorge Bridge.
Afterward, we'll continue on to
the old west town of Durango.
Day 6
Today, we will ride the
famous Silverton, a narrow-gauge railroad train. We'll winds
through the rugged San Juan Region to Silverton, Colorado. The
Silverton has been designated both a historical landmark and a
national civil engineering landmark.
Day 7
Our tour today will
include Mesa Verde National Park, with its famous cliff dwellings,
and the "4 Corners" where you can be in New Mexico, Arizona,
Colorado, and Utah at the same time!

Grand Canyon
Scenic Railroad

Tour South
Rim of the Grand Canyon
We'll briefly return to
Williams this morning to board the historic Grand Canyon Scenic
Railroad at the historic train depot. We'll then chug, chug and
choo-choo our way to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Before we
return to Flagstaff, we'll tour the South Rim with a number of
picture stops along the way.

9
We'll briefly visit the red rock
Sedona area this morning, before we travel aboard the vintage
Verde Canyon Railroad this afternoon. Maybe you've visited this
area before but you've never seen it like this!

10
We'll return home to Southern
California today with many fond memories of the Vintage Trains of
the Scenic Southwest!
